Reservation Policies 
 

Making a Reservation

Emerald Cove Marina handles the reservations for the U.S. Forest Service campgrounds within the Bullards Bar Recreation Area.  You may reserve the following types of facilities through the Marina Reservation System: 
  • Family Campsites (Single, Double and Triple Occupancy)
  • Group Campsites (Single - 25 people and Double - 50 people)
  • Shoreline Camping Permits (Single Occupancy - Sanitation required per Yuba Co. Ordinance - Restricted availability)

You may call the reservation specialists at Emerald Cove Marina by dialing (530) 692-3200.  We would be happy to assist you in choosing the best available site that fits your needs.  Hours of operation vary seasonally and may change without notice. 

Reservation Information: 

A maximum of two (2) reservations  may be made per telephone call.  

FAMILY CAMPSITE RESERVATION RESTRICTIONS:

A maximum of two (2) Single sites / shoreline permits, may be reserved by any one individual for the same occupancy dates, OR     

  • One (1) Double site  OR
  • One (1) Triple site may be reserved by any one individual for the same occupancy dates.

FAMILY CAMPSITE MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY LIMITS:

The U.S. Forest Service strictly enforces occupancy limits (for people and vehicles) and noise ordinances at Bullards Bar Reservoir.

  • Single family site Maximum occupancy is 6 people.  Maximum vehicle occupancy varies by site but is generally 1-2 vehicles depending on the size of the vehicles and the campsite parking space.  *See site descriptions for more specfic information. 
  • Shoreline permits are Single sites, with a Maximum occupancy of 6 people per permit.  In addition, shoreline sites located more than 300 feet from the two developed boat-access campgrounds are required to have a chemical toilet with them.  The floating toilets do not count!
  • Double family sites count as 2 sites (Maximum occupancy - 12 people / 4 vehicle units). 
  • Triple family sites count as 3 sites (Maximum Occupancy - 18 people / 4 vehicle units. 

If your group is larger than can be accommodated in the family campsites, you should consider staying in the Hornswoggle Group Campground as an alternative.

GROUP CAMPSITE RESERVATION RESTRICTIONS:

A Maximum of two (2) 25-person sites may be reserved by a group for the same occupancy dates, OR

  • One (1) 50-person site may be reserved by a group for the same occupancy dates. 

GROUP CAMPSITE OCCUPANCY LIMITS:

The U.S. Forest Service strictly enforces occupancy limits (for people and vehicles) and noise ordinances at Bullards Bar Reservoir.

  • Hornswoggle Group sites with a 25 person maximum capacity count as one (1) group site reservation (5 sites total). 
  • Hornswoggle Site #3, the  Madrone unit (50 person capacity) counts as two (2) group site reservations.

When calling to make a reservation, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Campground Name / Site # Requested
  • Arrival and departure dates
  • The number of people in your party
  • The number of vehicle units (autos/boats/RVs, etc) and their combined length.   A vehicle unit is defined as a standard full size pick-up.  A vehicle pulling a trailer counts as two (2) vehicle units.   
  • Method of payment (Visa or MasterCard)

Reservation Policies
  • Camping permits are required for camping within the Bullards Bar Recreation Area.  
  • Anyone camping in the Bullards Bar Recreation Area without a permit will be cited by the U.S. Forest Service.
  • Permits may be purchased at the Emerald Cove Marina office during the camping season, or reserved by telephone. During the summer season it is wise to make reservations ahead of time since our campgrounds are usually filled to capacity every weekend.
  • All campsites are assigned by Campground and site number.
  • Payment in full is required at the time the reservation is made.  The reservation handling fee is $7.50 for each site reserved. 
  • A two-night minimum is required for general reservations.  A three-night minimum is required on holidays.
  • Reserved campsites will be held until checkout time on your scheduled departure date. 
  • Dark Day Campground day-use sites (17 - 30) are available on a first come - first served basis only.  They may not be occupied overnight.

Method of Payment

  • Emerald Cove Marina accepts Visa and MasterCard for telephone camping reservations. 
  • Payment in full is taken at the time the reservation is made.

Reservation Changes

  • A $7.50 service fee per site will apply each time you change your reservation. 

Reservation Cancellations and Refunds 

  • If you cancel a campsite reservation more than thirty (30) days before your arrival date you will receive a full refund of the nightly camping fees.
  • If you cancel a campsite reservation within thirty (30) days but more than four (4) days before your arrival date you will forfeit one nights camping, plus the reservation handling fee.  A refund will be issued for the remainder.
  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within three (3) days of your arrival date.
  • No-shows, Early Departures and Late Arrivals are not entitled to a refund.
  • The $7.50 reservation handling fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • Re-booking service fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
  • Bankcard Purchases:  Refunds for Bankcard payments will be issued as a credit to the Bankcard used for the original transaction.

Changes to the Policies and Procedures:  Emerald Cove Marina reserves the right to modify, alter and change policies and procedures.  Current reservation policies are available on the Internet at www.bullardsbar.com.
